Working with faery-spirits...

1. Be polite. Always treat them with courtsey, and their natural world with respect.
2. Faery-spirits can be contacted by interacting with the natural world, either communing with nature on a wooded hiking trail or sitting quietly by a pond. They can also be contacted through meditation, and pathworking into the Faerie realm.
3. Exercise caution. Some of the faery-spirits are known tricksters. Others are occasionally mischievous. Some are completely disinterested in interacting with humans. Others possibly are even malign towards humans. Nature is beautful; it can also be dangerous.
4. Faery-spirits come in all shapes and sizes. There are tiny winged spirits that flit about flowers. Various other faery-spirits are associated with animals, large leafy green men associated with trees, water faery-spirits associated with rain and rivers, etc.
5. Do not take something for granted. Many faery-spirits are shape-shifters and masters of "glamore."
6. "Go green!" One way to gain the favour of certain faery-spirits is by helping the environment. Clean up trash on the roadside or a nearby park.
7. Another way to gain the favour of faery-spirits is to allow a little portion bit of your garden to grow wild or grow fallow. Use organic gardening methods. Compost is sometimes said to be faery gold. Plant thyme and other plants faery-spirits enjoy.
8. Leave appropriate gifts for the faeries, look after their habitat, and they may bestow some gift in return.
9. Make something to honor the faery-spirits. Try building a rustic faery house outside. Set up a faery-spirit shrine or small faery-spirit.
10. Keep your house tidy. House faeries hate clutter and dirt. If you don't keep your home relatively clean, do not invite any house faeries to reside with you.
11. Work with faeries for the "betterment of all," not simply for your personal gain, power, or materialistic goals.
