Greco-Roman Ring

Shadowslayer has kindly sent me this picture of a ring she owns. In email correspondence on Thursday, January 5, 2006, she wrote:

"I also wear a bronze Greco-Roman "signet" type ring which has a pentacle engraved on it. The ring was recovered from an archeological dig in Syracuse, Sicily, many years ago. and was found with a cache of coins, the youngest of which was a silver decadrachm from the Greek late classical period featuring Arethusa and three dolphins. The coin was struck in Syracuse between 400 and 370 BCE, and so the ring is at least that old."

I'm delighted to have a photo of such a wonderful treasure on my website. It is a beautiful pentagram ring. My sincere thanks to Shadowslayer.
