The earthly shell returns the earth from where it came. Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. Praise our Lord God, forever. Amen.

God of power and mercy, you have made death itself the gateway to eternal life. Look with love on our brother/sister, and make him/her one with your Son in his resurrection, that, sealed with the blood of Jesus, he/she may come before you free from sin. In Christ's name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, we humbly place into your hands the souls of those who have blessed our lives, but are no longer with us. Bring them to the place you have prepared for them in your kingdom. Help all of us who remain behind and grieve their loss. Inspire us by Jesus’ resurrection so that we may have the hope in eternal life forever.
