Moonlight Chant

I am opening myself in sweet delight
To the beautiful moonlight of Aradia;
I am opening myself in sweet delight
To the beautiful moonlight of Aradia;
I am op-en-ing; I am op-en--ing;
I am op-en-ing; I am op-en--ing...
(repeat)

Myth's Notes

This item isn't exactly a piece of lore or venerable ritual about Aradia. However, I'm including it because it provides some insight into how Wiccan materials sometimes develop and evolve.

I adapted the above chant from another source while driving home an night on October 9, 2003. The moon was almost perfectly full. It shown like a bright coin, veiled thinly in a mist of clouds. I began humming and then singing a version of the above chant, substituting the word "moonlight" for "lovelight" and "delight" for "surrender." I also substituted the name, "Aradia," for the word "Lord" or "Lady." I think I adapted it from a Shiva chant that I learned ages ago, but I am uncertain of its original source.
